On September 4, Shinhwa’s Kim Dongwan posted about his struggles with appearing on variety shows on his social media account.
“I wish they’d stop sending offers for variety shows. I don’t have the confidence to make people laugh, and I don’t want to share my true story publicly. Bringing up my past only hurts me. Can’t I pretend to be happy and successful and live quietly? I wish they’d leave me alone.

However, fans wanted to see more of Kim Dongwan on shows. When fans asked what kind of shows he would like to do, he responded, “I like things that produce results through my efforts, such as performances, drama, and home shopping.”
He also addressed the provocative editing and headlines demanded from variety shows, “I think they want depression, poverty, loss, and pornography these days. I guess that’s just the way things are.”
When asked, “I guess there is no one worth casting,” he agreed, “Bingo. I don’t want to do it because I can see that.”
However, when a fan asked if there would be a second season of Shinwhwa Broadcast, he replied, “Of course! The members will make it fun!”
