Netizens accused SM Entertainment of trying to hide behind their accusations against Big Planet Made and MC Mong’s bad public image.
On June 1, EXO‘s Chen, Xiumin, and Baekhyun shocked fans when it was revealed that they had filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment to terminate its contract. It was also revealed that the idols had asked for a full accounting of their activities in March but have yet to receive them.
In response, SM Entertainment released a fiery statement in which it accused another agency, Big Planet Made, of trying to poach its artists from them. The agency alleged that Big Planet Made had caused a rift between the idols through rumors and misinformation.
News of Big Planet Made’s involvement has since become a big issue due to the fact that MC Mong had one time served as an executive in the agency. News outlets reported on the issue, hinting that the former disgraced celebrity may have played a part in the idol’s exit.

Big Planet Made, however, has denied all allegations and revealed that MC Mong had stepped down from his role last year and currently has no ties with the company. The agency also revealed it had never met with the EXO members.

Netizens lambasted SM Entertainment for allegedly using the media to make it seem like the agency had played a role in the members’ departure. Fans also accused how the label was hiding behind MC Mong’s bad image to avert fans’ attention from the fact that they had not given a full accounting of the idols’ payments and activities upon request.
