Man Plots To Kill 9 SM Entertainment Employees After Obsessing Over Girl Group Member

The man grew angry when the girl group member didn’t respond to his advances.

A man in his 20s was arrested for threatening to Kill 9 SM Entertainment employees.

On August 11, police revealed that they had arrested a 28-year-old man for making threats and obstruction. The man is said to have posted his death threats on a controversial online community, saying he would murder 9 of the label’s employees.

According to reports, the man had liked a girl group member for the past 17 years. The man is said to have told police that he private messaged her several times but grew angry when she didn’t respond and impulsively wrote the death threats.

Police, however, are not believing the suspect’s claims that the threats were made out of impulse after authorities discovered a detailed plot against the employees in the suspect’s phone. Police also learned that the man had mental health issues and was taking medication.

The suspect said that he had tried to get close to the idol on several occasions, but when she didn’t respond, he became angry. The suspect had set a D-Day on which to go through with his threats as well as planning out what he would write in his threat and detailed several scenarios, including how to respond to police.

This is another incident following a horrific knife rampage that seriously injured 14 people. Since the incident, there has been an unprecedented rise in death threats leading to 38 people being detained and 4 people arrested.
