SM Entertainment has remained silent.

Amid surprisingly low ticket sales, RIIZE’s upcoming concert has been abruptly canceled less than one month before the scheduled date.

As part of their RIIZING LOUD World Tour leg in North America, the group was set to perform in Duluth, Georgia, at Gas South Arena, a 13,000-capacity venue. Now, just a few weeks ahead of the November 4 concert date, fans have received notice that the show has been canceled, with no rescheduling or relocation details provided.

Ticketmaster automatically issued an announcement to ticket holders late at night on October 17, reassuring fans that they would receive a refund automatically. SM Entertainment, however, has yet to release any statement several hours after the cancellation notice was emailed out.

The tour promoter, hello82, also remains silent, leaving fans furious at the lack of communication so close to the North American tour’s start on October 30. Many ticket holders across the US have also been left to worry whether other dates might face the same fate.

While the lack of announcement from SM Entertainment and hello82 means fans still don’t have answers, the most common theory for the show’s cancellation is low ticket sales. Since tickets were released in August this year, both Korean and international netizens have been shocked by the low sales.

Some blamed Ticketmaster’s Platinum system, which automatically increases ticket prices based on demand. Others suggested that the venues booked were simply too ambitious for a two-year-old K-Pop group in the US market.

Initially, Korean netizens were unconcerned about the slow sales given the concerts were still months away. However, concerns grew when hello82 announced a special ticket promotion in honor of RIIZE’s second anniversary, which allows fans to buy two tickets and get another two completely free. At the time, the majority of tickets for the Duluth, Georgia date remained available.

Adding to fans frustrations and concerns, other RIIZE tour dates across the US are still largely unsold, though they are yet to be canceled. As of now, the tour is still expected to visit Illinois, New York, Washington DC, Washington state, California, and Mexico City in October and November.

This isn’t the first major boy group tour cancellation this month, with K-Pop concerts seemingly facing challenges across the US and worldwide.
