SM Entertainment Idol Blurts Out Her True Feelings About JYP’s Leader Selection Criteria

An idol who made her debut through SM Entertainment expressed her candid thoughts about JYP Entertainment’s criteria for selecting a leader.

On May 27, episode 21 of the Fake Kim Hyoyeon series titled “That’s a No-No? Stealing My Part Is Really a No-No” was released on YouTube.

In the video, Girls’ Generation‘s Hyoyeon visited the JYP practice room for a meeting ahead of a special stage with ITZY. When a dispute over parts arose, Hyoyeon suggested, “Let’s just decide the leader first,” urging them to pick a leader.

She then appealed by saying, “Isn’t it usually decided by age?” When Lia said, “It used to be by age,” Hyoyeon was taken aback and responded, “Used to be?”

Yeji and Chaeryeong explained, “At JYP, since they started emphasizing truth, diligence, and humility, that’s how it’s done,” and described it as a necessary virtue. Hyoyeon instinctively questioned, “Why is that needed?” provoking laughter.
