SM Entertainment’s Sales Contribution Forecast For Their Artists Shocks Many

Are you surprised?

Recently, netizens discovered some data that projects the sales contribution of SM Entertainment‘s artists in 2024, with forecasts in three different categories. While the predictions are just that — predictions — some fans have found them both interesting and surprising, especially when it comes to a couple of artists!

The first category is the album sales trend forecast. Incredibly, a whopping 52% — over half of the total — is expected to come from NCT alone. Considering what the sales of sub-units like NCT 127 and NCT DREAM have been lately, it does make sense that their contribution would be high, but it’s still an incredible amount! The group with the second-most contribution predicted is rookie boy group RIIZE at 17%, impressive for such a young group. Soon after them is aespa with 16%, then SHINee with 5% and Red Velvet with 3%.

Again, these are just projections, so it will be interesting to see how accurate it ends up being.

The second category is the performance attendance trend forecast. Once again NCT comes in first at a predicted 45%, though it’s unclear how it would be broken down between the group’s sub-units. Next is aespa at 23%, showing how much of a powerhouse the girl group is in SM Entertainment these days. After that is SHINee at 10%, then both Taeyeon and TVXQ with 7% each. Red Velvet is predicted to contribute 5%, BoA 2%, and SMTOWN 1%.

The final category is the streaming trend forecast. NCT once again takes the lead, but only just, at 26% of the predicted total. Super Junior is close behind them with a projected 22%, showing that the senior group is an artist to contend with in this area! Aespa comes in next at 14%, EXO close behind them at 13%, and Red Velvet after both at 10%. Finally, Girls’ Generation will contribute a projected 7%, SHINee 6%, and RIIZE 2%.
