Korean Media Speculate SNSD Yuri Opted out of Group Photos Due to Her Brother’s Implication in Seungri’s Scandal
Recently, a VIP viewing of SNSD‘s Sooyoung‘s new film, Memories of a Dead End was held, which fellow members Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun attended for support.
It’s been reported that SNSD’s Yuri attended this event as well, but she was nowhere to be seen in the photos that were posted.
The next day, Sooyoung posted a series of photos on her official Instagram account along with the caption, “I’m jealous of you, Sooyoung. Memories of a Dead End. SNSD is the best.”
But once again, Yuri wasn’t in any of these photos either, and there are a few speculations for why that is.
Several media outlets are speculating that it has to do with the fact that her brother Kwon Hyuk Joon has been reported to have been best friends with Seungri and Jung Joon Young who are currently buried deep within their respective scandals.
But there’s also the possibility that Yuri simply didn’t want to be photographed since she was wearing more casual wear and no makeup, shown in some other photos not taken by SNSD members.
With so many innocent idols getting pulled in to the scandal for just about any groundless reason, it would be understandable if Yuri was trying to be extra careful, and even if that wasn’t the case, the media’s speculation goes on to prove that idols are at risk for getting pulled into this scandal no matter what they do.
Her brother, Kwon Hyuk Joon has recently participated in the case as a testifier and stressed that even though he was a part of the chatroom once, he knew nothing of soliciting prostitution or any other crimes that are currently under investigation.
