Song Joong Ki getting love calls for his comeback project
Song Joong Ki is already garnering attention for his possible comeback piece after the army. Although the actor is to be discharged in May, news of Song Joong Ki receiving love calls has surfaced in the media and press.
Recently, Song Joong Ki has made numerous casting rumors for his upcoming piece after his discharge from the military. First up, Song Joong Ki has been offered with a lead role in the Chinese-Korean film Martial Arts (known as Kwonbob). The film has experienced difficulty in casting as it was supposed to be a comeback piece for Jo In Sung. However, with the delay of production Jo In Sung got released from the film. As a result, Yeo Jin Gu was confirmed for the film in April last year. Yet, with the Chinese film investors urge for Kim Soo Hyun with his popularity in China, the male casting has been delayed until now.
More recently, Song Joong Ki has been reportedly offered a lead male role for writer Kim Eun Sook‘s upcoming project Descendants of the Sun. Kim has crafted hit dramas for top stars in the past, including, On Air, Lovers in Paris, Secret Garden with Hyunbin, and The Heirs with Lee Min Ho. Although no casting confirmation has been made as the actor is still serving the military until May, his agency Blossom Entertainment and the production team are in talks regarding the casting.
According to Blossom Entertainment, “As his discharge date is coming closer, many offers are being made currently. Likewise the casting rumors for a film (Kwonbob), we are currently open to and in process of reviewing all possible offers, including, ‘Descendants of the Sun.’ Nothing has been decided as of now.”
Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki drafted for the military in August 2013 and scheduled to discharge this May.
