South Korea Eliminates Defending Champion Germany From The World Cup

South Korea has knocked Germany right out of the competition!

In a shocking turn of events, South Korea has knocked Germany out of the World Cup tournament with a 2-0 win!

Germany, the World Cup’s defending champion, suffered this devasting elimination in a 2-0 stoppage-time loss to their opponent.

At first, South Korea’s first goal in injury time was disallowed but the overturning of that decision meant that Mexico, despite suffering heavy loss, would advance to the knockout stage with Sweden.

Kim Young-gwon opened the scoring for South Korea against Germany in added time.

Sweden’s lead over Mexico gave Germany the perfect opportunity to advance in the competition, but only if Germany could take out South Korea. Unfortunately for Germany, they failed to score, due to goalkeeper Jo Hyeon-Woo‘s incredible defense in Kazan.

Germany’s 26 shots failed to trouble this phenomenal goalkeeper!

Germany gave it their all, but goals from South Korea’s Kim Young-gwon and Son Heung-min officially ended the champ’s World Cup reign.

All around the world, World Cup fans are losing their minds over South Korea’s victory.

Mexico fans, in particular, couldn’t be happier and are celebrating South Korea’s victory as their own.

South Korea’s victory is a triumph for all Asian countries, as they are now the first Asian country in the world to beat Germany at the World Cup.

Congrats to team South Korea! You’ve made your country proud!
