Recently, K-Pop company RBW Entertainment was seen promoting an app on their social media, tagging idols from their company and subsidiaries, including MAMAMOO‘s Solar, OH MY GIRL‘s Hyojung, and Young Posse‘s Jiana.

The app quickly drew backlash for its AI concept, allowing fans to simulate a chat with an idol via voice or text. Yet, on a deeper dive, it sparked fury and was labeled disgusting after netizens noticed that a premium subscription gives users a chance for a “spicy” option. Netizens were angry after imagining what it could entail when it came to female idols, especially in the world of deepfakes.

One fan shared that content for Young Posse came from when they were minors.
