“Squid Game 3” Flamed Over Alleged “Misogynistic Pro-Life” Agenda

Spoiler Alert
On June 27, the final season of Squid Game was added to Netflix‘s catalog, concluding the 4 year old series.
This season deals with the aftermath of the rebellion in the final episode of the previous season, with the games unsurprisingly resuming. The fate of several popular characters is also revealed, resulting in heartbreaking losses.

One question answered from season two involves Player 222 (Jun Hee) and her unborn child, who survive long enough for her to give birth during the next game played. This dramatic scene was marked by the death of Hyun Ju, also known as Player 120, the first of many leading characters’ deaths.
This scene also involved Geum Ja, or Player 149, killing her son to protect Player 222 and the newly born child, who went on to end her own life after the players voted to continue the games.

Any hopes of the mother and child surviving until the end of the games are quickly ended during the second game: jump rope. Player 456, Gi Hun, takes the baby girl across the bridge himself as Player 222 has an injured ankle.
Upon realizing that Gi Hun was planning to go back to try to help her cross, Player 222 sacrifices herself for her child, hoping that Gi Hun would help her survive.

After this game, nine players remain, including the baby girl who has now been given her mother’s number. After the adult players are informed of this, five attempt to get rid of the baby as a competitor, with her father, Player 333(Myung Gi), not voicing any protests.

In the final game’s showdown, Player 333 and Gi Hun face off, with 333 threatening to kill his child.
Though this does not happen, through a technical error, Gi Hun and the child are left as the only two competitors, with one’s death being necessary for the other to survive. Gi Hun chooses to sacrifice himself for the baby to survive, ending his life and the attempts at a rebellion against the Squid Games.

Some have called out the lack of any females in the final round of the games and after episode four, except the baby, calling it out as misogyny. Additionally, many had issues with the sacrifices made by characters to save the child, seeing it as a “pro-life” message, especially in the face of characters attempting to kill, or “abort” the baby then facing a terrible fate.
While Gi Hun did get a point across with the baby’s survival, it also took him away from his own daughter’s life, prioritizing the life of a baby over everything else.
i thought daeho would be a really nice commentary on toxic masculinity but silly me for trusting the writer who’s killed off all the female characters by episode 4 and lowkey pushed a prolife agenda with the junhee/baby plot😂😂😂

.What a STUPID fucking ending.
Is squid game pro-life? Why is this INFANT treated as more important than these adults? Why is it even allowed to compete. They lost the plot. Worst possible ending imaginable.

I was going to say that Squid Game season 3 is extremely misogynistic but i remembered half the male cast members are either actual misogynists, assaulters or abusers and it all made sense to me

While the decision would be tough for anyone to make, it seems many viewers feel the story could have ended in a better way.
