Filipino TV Show and Cast Apologize To Super Junior and Fans After Backlash
Home Sweetie Home, a television program in the Philippines, released an official apology after receiving backlash from Super Junior fans.
In an episode shot in Seoul, South Korea, the cast appeared to be discussing the latest trends when one of them asked if they wanted to see Super Junior. The reply that came from the scripted episode was: “They are outdated. BTS are the trendy ones now.”
you don’t have to be in an elf fandom to know that those girl’s remarks here is very rude and unacceptable. i don’t see the need of comparing 2 groups just to show that one person doesnt know the trend anymore. #ApologizeToSuperJunior #RespectSuperJunior

The comment angered a lot of Super Junior’s fans as they called out the responsible production team and cast members online for unnecessarily comparing the two groups, as well as disrespecting a legendary group that’s been active for over 13 years.
i'm disgusted at the poorly-made and offensive script & at the actresses who acted these lines out. SUJU has contributed so much to the music and kpop industry, becoming an inspiration to many. to the scriptwriters of home sweetie home, a big taena mu #ApologizeToSuperJunior

Idk what happened on Home Sweetie Home's episode last night until I saw the top hashtag. I am not an all-out fan of SuJu but I love them and I've always respected them. They're legends for goodness sake! "Eww"? "Old"? Heol! You're messing w the wrong fandom. #RespectSuperJunior pic.twitter.com/LYLpd81Dlx
