Super Junior’s Kangin fined 7 million won for drunk driving

Super Junior’s Kangin faces charges after getting into a hit-and-run while drunk driving back in May. 

Super Junior member Kangin was charged with a DUI after driving his car into a streetlight at 2 a.m in the Sinsadong neighborhood of Seoul. The Seoul Central District Court stated that since the accident did not result into any casualties, Kangin will only be fined 7 million won for his wrongdoings.

The incident was also cause for his license to be revoked after his blood alcohol content level read at 0.157%.

This incident in May was not Kangin’s first offense. Back in 2009, the SM Entertainment artist crashed his car into a taxi and fled the scene. He turned himself in to the police hours later and was fined 8 million won. Meanwhile, Kangin enlisted into the Korean army short after the incident in 2009 and was discharged in 2012.

Since his recent hit-and-run, the singer and entertainer went on hiatus to reflect.
