Popular Idol’s Sudden Departure From Show Sparks Mixed Reactions
On the most recent episode of MBC’s Radio Star, Super Junior’s Shindong expressed his disappointment over his unannounced departure from a variety show.

Shindong, an original member of the show, Great Escape, became emotional when he heard he wouldn’t be able to be a part of the show.

Whether it’s ‘Radio Star’ or ‘Great Escape,’ no one tells me I am no longer a part of the show.

He also shared that he learned about the production of Great Escape: The Story through a news article. Returning after a five-year hiatus, the show revealed EXO’s Baekhyun, Yeo Jin Goo, and Go Kyung Pyo as the new members.

Shindong, who was also an original member of Radio Star, confessed, “I found out I wasn’t a part of the show after a news article stated that ‘Kim Gook Jin will replace Shindong’. It keeps happening, so I can’t forget it.”
However, K-Netizens revealed a divided response to the matter.

- “Entertainment broadcasts have always been like that.”
- “Shindong played an important role on the show, can’t believe this.”
- “With a new season comes new members, so it’s only natural.”
- “They are making a new series with just the IP, so is it really necessary for them to let him know that he’s not a part of the show? Even letting him know sounds funny.”
- “I think the production team changed…do they have to contact him? I mean, I understand that he’s disappointed, but…”
- “No manners…”
