Super Junior’s Siwon Warns Fans Of Imposter SNS Account

The fake account solicited donations under his name.

On June 1, Super Junior member Siwon revealed acts of fraud happening through a fake SNS account under his name.

Through his personal Instagram, Siwon shared screenshots of messages from the imposter accounts, with the texts asking for private monetary donations.

Siwon added a caption explaining that it was all fraud, and asked fans to “please be safe.”

There’s something you all need to know. I [have] received a report that there is an account impersonating me and asking for private donations…only legal and legitimate foundations and nonprofit organizations are sponsored and are done so within the framework of the law. Also, I don’t request donations through one-on-one chat. @siwonchoiandfans please be safe!

Siwon has become a mainstay as an idol donor. At the end of 2019, children’s relief fund UNICEF recognized and appointed Siwon as a Regional Ambassador for East Asia and Pacific. He also recently launched his slogan “No Challenge No Chance” as a clothing line in collaboration with VOICE OF YOU. A percentage of the proceeds from his line will go towards COVID-19 relief.
