His agency announced that he suffered a partial rupture of his ankle ligament.
This injury occurred while the group promoted its 10th mini album, a;effect. Hyunjae revealed that he accidentally stepped on the ball when it came to him.

Due to the sudden injury, his agency revealed that he will perform for music broadcasts while seated in a chair.
However, during a live broadcast, Hyunjae revealed that he might perform on stage regardless if he feels better.
