Top Boy Group Idol Confesses To Cutting Contact With His Parents
A top K-Pop boy group member revealed that he has cut off contact with his parents.
In Disney+’s Battle Of Fates released on February 25, Super Junior member Shindong was seen receiving a fortune reading from shaman Seol Hwa and tarot master Choi Han Na.

Shindong said, “I came down myself because I wanted to get a fortune reading. Having a career as an entertainer comes with a lot of uncertainty about the future. I’ve lived my past this way, but I’m curious about what will happen in the future. I’m getting older, there’s marriage involved, and since I like children, I’m curious about how many kids I might have.”
Shindong started talking first with Seol Hwa, who said, “Your mother thinks you’ve had it easy, but why is it always about money, money, money?” which shocked him. Shindong had previously revealed that his mother lost her entire fortune due to a failed investment.
Seol Hwa said, “She is a worried mother trying to find a way to save the family. That’s why your father’s energy is a bit drained. As your father loses his strength, your mother takes on more of the leadership role.”
In response, Shindong confessed, “Honestly, I don’t have contact with either my mother or father right now.” He explained, “It’s basically about money. Problems arose because of money. My mother kept asking, when I gave her living expenses, ‘Don’t give it monthly, just give it all at once so I can do something with it and not worry you.’ She always wanted a large sum of money. After taking such large sums, she was scammed or made bad investments and lost all the money.”
When Seol Hwa said, “In cases like this, people tend to want a second family,” Shindong agreed, “Right. There’s that loneliness. I talked a lot on broadcasts before about wanting to get married and even almost got married in real life. The reason is I’ve wanted to experience marriage since I was young. I think I had the idea in my head that it would bring happiness.”
