TREASURE’s Jihoon Comes Under Fire For “Inappropriate” Post

TREASURE‘s Jihoon is being criticized for promoting a Japanese song on Korea’s Memorial Day.
On June 6, Korea celebrated its Memorial Day. The day is reserved to give thanks and honor those who served in the military and died.
On this day, Jihoon recommended the Japanese band RADWIMPS‘ “Ms. Phenomenal.” The song is well-known to be the OST to the Japanese Movie, The Last 10 Years.
The idol has since come under fire for recommending a Japanese song on Korea’s Memorial Day. As the scars from Japan’s occupation of the country are still fresh to many, netizens stated the idol’s song recommendation was inappropriate.
- “Regardless of how good the song is, you should have checked the date. You should have used your brain and stopped yourself from uploading the post (recommendation). Seriously, what are you doing?”

Jihoon eventually took the post down without addressing the controversy.
