JYP Entertainment Threatens to Take Legal Action for False Rumors About TWICE’s Jihyo
ZICO‘s reference to Jung Joon Young‘s “golden phone” on MBC’s Radio Star, which resurfaced in light of the current hidden cam and chatroom scandal, has been the subject of a lot of scrutiny and rumor.
Among those rumors, has been the spectre of an illicit video involving girl group member, which some have speculated was taken of TWICE‘s Jihyo.
It was later confirmed that no such video of a famous celebrity was found on the phone, but Jihyo’s name is continuing to be mentioned online with mean comments added to the baseless rumors.
In response to these negative rumors and comments, JYP Entertainment made the official statement that they believe the rumors that have spread could seriously damage Jihyo’s image and reputation.
As such, they added that taking legal action and making charges for cyber defamation is definitely a possibility.
Here’s JYP’s official statement below:
“Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.
We’ve decided that the rumors that have spread about our artist can seriously damage their image and reputation, so we are currently seeking ways to take legal action against those who created and spread these rumors.
