Here Is What TWICE’s Tzuyu Thinks About The Group’s Recent Change To Mature Concepts

She’s grown up so much!

TWICE is releasing their first English language single, “The Feels”, so it only makes sense for the members to reflect on all of the things they’ve accomplished so far during their impressive career. This is exactly what Tzuyu did during her first-ever solo cover shoot for L’Officiel Singapore.

When asked “how have your sound and image evolved” by the magazine, Tzuyu was eloquent in explaining how much things have changed since their first full-length album, Twicetagram.

Twicetagram featured the title track “Likey” and was praised for its fun and fresh concept. The album was later repackaged as Merry & Happy with “Heart Shaker” as its single. This song was bouncy, colorful and showed the girls’ cute side well.

In comparison, this year TWICE has released “Alcohol-Free” and “Perfect World”. Both songs take influence from Latin music, with one having a more Bossa Nova-inspired party vibe while the other takes its cue from Tango music.

When discussing these eras, Tzuyu shared just how much the concepts have allowed her to change.

I do feel that our sound and image have somewhat evolved since Twicetagram. I used to have a very bright and lovely image but now, I get to show a more mature and varied image.

She elaborated on what she meant by “varied image” by discussing the difference between the Taste Of Love Korean comeback and the Perfect World Japanese comeback.

I’d say the main difference between the two versions is that we get to bring the fresh vibe of summer with Taste of Love whereas Perfect World is an expression of a more confident and cooler concept.

When discussing the publics’ reaction to the Taste of Love album, Tzuyu couldn’t help but mention the positive response she’s received from ONCEs by saying, “Our fans have given the album a lot of love, as always, and that makes me feel really proud and loved.”
