TXT’s Yeonjun & WayV’s Yangyang To Make Their Runway Modeling Debuts At New York Fashion Week
This week marks one of the most important dates on the style calendar: New York Fashion Week. It also marks an important date for TXT and WayV fans as two of their members gear up for a runway debut.
New York Fashion Week is one of the most prestigious and exclusive semi-annual series of fashion events and runway shows. In the past, Korean stars like BLACKPINK, Eric Nam, NCT‘s Lucas, and more have all been in the audiences of some of NYFW‘s biggest events of the season.
This year, things are a little different. With New York partially locked down under COVID-19 restrictions, the New York Fashion Week runways are making their way online—and the South Korean government is getting involved. The Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has joined forces with the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) to forge Concept Korea, a new initiative to support South Korean fashion designs affected by the pandemic.
And part of that initiative will see two boy group idols make their runway debuts: TXT’s Yeonjun and WayV’s Yangyang.
Alongside R&B singer BIBI, Yeonjun will be modeling for ul:kin by Lee Sung Dong. Ul:kin is known for defiant and innovative fashion expression through upcycling, deconstruction, reconstruction, and art.
According to a press release, Yeonjun was chosen for his “tall height and exceptional body proportions“.
Yangyang, meanwhile, will walk the runway for JARRET by Lee Ji Yeon. JARRET’s last collection comprised an elevated athleisure aesthetic with high-tech construction for comfort and style.
JARRET is yet to release any stills of Yangyang, but there’s no doubt he’ll look gorgeous as ever on the runway.

While it’s unfortunate that these stars won’t be able to travel to New York for the show, the great part about a digital, pandemic-safe New York Fashion Week is that fans will be able to watch everything live. Concept Korea will be streaming from NYFW.com on Wednesday, February 17 at 10:30 a.m. Korea Standard Time.
