Why TXT’s Yeonjun Was Worried About Covering BTS Jungkook’s “3D”

He studied Jungkook.

TXT is BTS‘s only junior group in BIGHIT MUSIC, so naturally, they have a close brotherly bond.

Yet, the TXT members have also been outspoken in voicing how much BTS has inspired them. Most members have identified as members of BTS’s fandom, ARMY.

Recently, TXT’s Yeonjun covered BTS maknae Jungkook‘s solo song “3D.” It was a special performance for 2023 SBS Gayo Daejeon.

Now, BIGHIT MUSIC has released a new documentary titled ‘make it happen’ Winter 2023, focused on Yeonjun. MOAs got a behind-the-scenes look at Yeonjun’s intense preparations that he invested into his special stages from this past winter.

Yeonjun believed that his cover performance would be compared to the original. So, in preparation for 2023 SBS Gayo Daejeon, Yeonjun studied Jungkook as he rehearsed “3D.”

Whenever I do cover performances, I always think like this. The fans would compare my performance with the original performance, right? Since I need to cover that artist. I thought I should really become that artist.

This was not an easy feat, though. Yeonjun explained that Jungkook’s decade-long experience has produced his unique and “relaxed” aura, so he cannot replicate it.

Studying him wasn’t that easy. His relaxed aura was all from experience. So it wasn’t easy to recreate that. The years of experience he had aren’t something I can copy.

Yeonjun respected Jungkook, paying tribute to his senior in his cover of “3D.” Like Jungkook, he has his own unique aura that is unmatched!
