“What’s Going On?”: TV Personality JaeJae Will Resign From SBS And Join MBC — “MMTG” Fans Are Confused
TV personality JaeJae announced she will resign from SBS and join MBC, and fans can’t help but wonder what will happen to her popular SBS talk show MMTG.
Celebrities appeared on MMTG to promote their newest music, films, or K-Dramas, and JaeJae used her wits and comedy to make the interview atmosphere fun for the guests and the audience. From K-Pop guests such as IVE to even American guests such as the cast of Guardians Of The Galaxy 3, JaeJae created a fun environment for her guests, often with silly outfits or funny topics to talk about.
Because MMTG is a fan favorite, with over 1.92 million subscribers as of this article, many were disappointed that JaeJae will leave SBS. An entertainment official told JTBC Entertainment News on May 12 that JaeJae was selected as the new DJ for MBC FM4U‘s radio program A Date At 2 PM.
Also, on May 12, JaeJae posted a video on her social media showing her submitting a resignation letter to SBS. The video was titled “D-17 until JaeJae Resigns. It’s True.” The caption for the video showed that the mystery of what is happening will be revealed on May 29.

JaeJae is often called “연반인,” a Korean word that mixes the words “celebrity” and “ordinary person” because she was a television producer before she became the host of her show. She joined SBS as an intern in 2015 and became a permanent employee in 2018. The SBS series she was a part of became the most viewed content on SBS News, eventually earning her a spot as the host on MMTG.
When JaeJae and MMTG’s social media posted the video showing her resignation, fans were confused about what would happen to the show. Many wanted JaeJae to continue hosting MMTG or take the show with her when she leaves SBS.

Whether this is for content or she is leaving the show will be clarified on May 29. However, her being a radio DJ on A Date At 2 PM is true and will be her first activity outside SBS.
