Actor Yeo Jin Goo enlists in KATUSA today (15th).
Starting from the 15th, Yeo Jin-goo will begin approximately one year and six months of military service and enter a military hiatus.
Ahead of his enlistment, on the 14th, he posted a photo of his shaved head on his SNS without any words, greeting his fans in advance. He caught attention by posing in a salute with his cut hair arranged in a name and heart shape, with a cake placed in front of him.
With his shorter hairstyle, Yeo Jin-goo looked even more dignified.
Yeo Jin Goo’s agency previously announced last month, “Yeo Jin Goo has been selected for KATUSA and will serve for about one year and six months starting Monday, December 15,” adding, “Since the training camp entrance ceremony is attended by many soldiers and families, the specific location and time will not be disclosed. We kindly ask you to refrain from visiting the site on the day.”
They also said, “We always appreciate the interest shown toward Yeo Jin Goo, and ask for your unwavering support and encouragement until the day he completes his national defense duties in good health and returns with a more mature self.”
Prior to this, Yeo Jin Goo shared his thoughts before enlistment in a handwritten letter: “As I write this letter, my heart is filled with gratitude, excitement, and some regret. The beginning of a new experience, where I will be away from you all for a while, is coming. Before enlisting, I was able to meet your faces, make eye contact, and share laughter during the Asia tour, and every moment is truly a precious memory to me.”
He continued, “Looking back, every moment of my journey as an actor, from the very start until now, you have been there watching and supporting me consistently. Thanks to your warm love and encouragement, I found great comfort and passionate energy, allowing me to move forward without getting tired. I believe that every single precious feeling from you all has brought me to where I am today. Words alone cannot express my heartfelt thanks.”
Yeo Jin Goo closed by saying, “While I am away from you for a short time, I will come back stronger and more mature! I promise to stand before you with both a healthier body and heart, and deeper acting skills. Please stay healthy, eat well, and live happily during this time.”
