BLACKPINK Jennie‘s album announcement has sparked major criticism towards YG Entertainment.

On January 22, Jennie made her highly-anticipated studio album announcement, marking the first full solo release since debuting.

While many fans were truly excited about Jennie’s solo announcement, it led to a lot of backlash towards YG Entertainment. As the members left the company for solo activities, YG became the center of criticism as each member started to announce their promotions and plans.
After the announcement of Jennie’s album, netizens shared their anger at YG for many reasons. Some pointed out that YG was holding them back as the members have released more solo songs in total compared to BLACKPINK’s entire discography since debuting in 2016.
