Netizens were shocked when BLACKPINK suddenly shared a teaser for their 2025 world tour, something nobody was expecting.

While netizens are always happy when BLACKPINK does group schedules, the tour announcement was hit with major backlash that was all aimed at YG Entertainment.

Some were very confused that, with the recent controversy over how many tracks BLACKPINK released under YG compared to recent releases away from the company, the group was going to tour and announce it before a possible album.

At the start of the month, it was reported that YG Entertainment is in “deficit” when it comes to earnings. When looking at 2024, the reports showed the statistics for 2024, which was considerably lower than the past years and saw the company in a deficit when it came to profit.

  • Revenue: 2024 (Estimated): 3,628
  • Operating Profit: 2024 (Estimated): -239
  • Net Profit; 2024 (Estimated): -5
  • Operating Profit Margin (%): 2024 (Estimated): -6.58
  • Net Profit Margin (%): 2024 (Estimated): -0.14

It meant that many netizens thought that the rushed tour for BLACKPINK was to try and recover some of the losses, especially as the group’s last global tour was a huge success and brought in a lot of revenue.
