YG Entertainment Introduces 3rd Member Of New Girl Group — “Disturbing” Detail Sparks Backlash

It’s been several months since the last member was announced.

On May 25, 2025, YG Entertainment announced its plans for the year, including the introduction of its new girl group. It was also revealed that the group would have four members who had already been selected.

A countdown began for the introduction of the members, with Evelli first, followed by Chanya.

On April 29, the next member of the group was revealed as Kayci. Kayci is Chinese-Korean, born to a Korean father and Chinese mother and raised in China.

Her official profile reveals that is a 13-year-old born on July 7, 2012, and has been training under YG Entertainment for a year and six months. She also also multi-lingual, speaking Korean, Chinese, and English, and has been labeled as an all-rounder for her official position.

With this announcement, excitement over a new member being introduced was shown.

However, a large number were more concerned over Kayci’s young age, combined with her time as a trainee.

Still, some pointed out that she is just a trainee, and won’t debut for some time still.
