[★BREAKING] ZE:A’s Contract With Star Empire Will Expire Tomorrow
Less than a week into the new year, another veteran idol group appears to be in danger of disbanding.
According to reports by Korean media outlets, male idol group ZE:A‘s contract with their agency Star Empire Entertainment is set to expire on January 7th. With the group having signed their contracts back in 2010, this marks the group’s 7th year anniversary.
Currently, member Kwang Hee is very busy with his role as a member on popular variety show Infinite Challenge, while Siwan has continued to solidify his success as an idol actor with movies like The Attorney and dramas such as the Incomplete Life. Members Hyungsik an Dongjoon are also making their mark in the acting scene through musicals and dramas.
While the team will be able to stay together if they choose to remain in the company, it seems that they will most likely disband if the members choose to sign with different companies. Some of the members seem to be considering the possibility of signing with agencies that only support actors.
An industry insider wrote:
“It was expected that things would be sorted out by the end of last year, but due to the fact that some of the members are busy with filming while some are in the army, it has been difficult to come to a conclusion.”
In response to rumors about disbandment, a representative from the agency had this to say:
“We are currently under discussion of renewing the contract with the members. However even if contracts expire we will continue to support the members who are busy with their filming schedules.”
