2016 was an amazing year for Baekhyun, here’s why

The year 2016 has been quite the year for EXO’s Baekhyun, who has made waves in both acting and singing.

While 2016 has been quite disappointing for many, EXO‘s Baekhyun achieved massive success and recognition throughout the year. As a group, EXO cemented their place in the history books by winning 22 awards including 5 Daesang Awards. In addition, Baekhyun has also been successful in his solo activities throughout the year.

Baekhyun made his debut as an actor in the SBS period drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo back in August. He also won the New Star Award at the 2016 SBS Drama Awards for his performance as the 10th Prince Wang Eun.

Among Baekhyun’s other achievements this year are awards for Most Popular Singer at the YinYueTai V-Chart Awards and the Popularity Award (Actor) at the Asia Artist Awards. He also took home the award for Best R&B/Soul at the Melon Music Awards and Best Collaboration at the 2016 MAMA for his duet “Dream” with miss A‘s Suzy.

Baekhyun also debuted as a member of EXO’s first subunit EXO-CBX, with their debut mini-album Hey Mama! Selling 276,000 copies, the album topped both the Billboard World Albums Chart and South Korea’s Gaon Album Chart.
