Have you heard of the “2D1N curse”? It refers to the controversies surrounding one of Korea’s most popular variety shows, 2 Days & 1 Night, its cast members, and its guests. Recently, the so-called curse has become a topic of discussion again, following the scandals of two celebrities.

The show’s current cast members are Kim Jong Min, Moon Se Yoon, DinDin, Lee Joon, Yoo Seong Ho, and Jo Se ho. Jo Se Ho (also known as Cho Sae Ho) has been accused of having ties to a gangster. On November 29 (KST), the Instagram account @exorcist_poy posted several photos of Jo Se Ho alongside Choi I Dong, who is allegedly part of the largest organized criminal group in the Geoje region.
The account alleged that Jo promoted a franchise restaurant owned by a gang member and received expensive gifts in return. Jo’s agency, A2Z Entertainment, has denied all allegations, stating that Jo and Choi are “just acquaintances,” and that Jo didn’t receive luxury gifts from him. Jo’s controversy has led to calls for his removal from 2 Days & 1 Night.
On December 8, 2 Days & 1 Night responded, telling OSEN, “It is true that filming scheduled for the 5th and 6th took place. The production team is currently monitoring the situation involving Jo Se Ho closely.”
Comedian Park Na Rae has also been in the news recently for a scandal. Park was never a regular cast member, but like many Korean celebrities, she has been on the show as a guest. She appeared in episodes 110-112 and episodes 165-167.
On December 3, Park’s former managers served her with a provisional seizure application for real estate at the Seoul Western District Court. They claimed that while working at Park’s one-person agency, they suffered abusive language, special assault, proxy prescriptions, non-payment of hosting fees, and constant personal errands. Days later, Park’s agency refuted these claims. She went on to expose her ex-managers’ alleged misdeeds.
In the midst of this, Dispatch revealed that Park has been consistently partaking in illegal medical practices. According to Article 33 of the medical law, it is illegal to perform medical procedures in exchange for money at a place that is not a medical institution. The place Park received treatments at was not a medical institution but rather a regular officetel in Ilsan.
On December 8, Park Na Rae posted a statement on her personal account, announcing her hiatus.
