BLACKPINK Lisa’s Old Interview Mentioning A BABYMONSTER Member Resurfaces

Here’s what she said.

BABYMONSTER is the newest girl group to debut from YG Entertainment. Their predecessors were none other than BLACKPINK, one of the most successful K-Pop groups ever.

Though they are understandably busy with their jampacked schedules, the older girls were able to make time to help out the younger ones ever since they were trainees. Thai member Lisa, in particular, has always been a mentor and friend to the BABYMONSTER members who also hailed from her country: Pharita and Chiquita. An old interview of hers sharing this experience has since resurfaced online.

It was none other than a piece with Rolling Stone that was released on May 24, 2022.

She mentioned spending time with “a Thai trainee” who was 17-years old. This aligns with Pharita who was born in 2005 and will turn 19-years old in August of this year.

Despite how busy she was, Lisa admitted that she was “trying to take care” of Pharita since she reminded her of herself when she was still a trainee.

There is a Thai trainee who reminds me of when I was young. I’m trying to take care of her.

They hang out in casual settings such as eating and shopping together. Lisa is the type of mentor who is also like a big sister, providing a place of comfort and familiarity to the Thai trainee.

It’s not so much about giving advice. We eat together, go shopping. She’s 17 and has been here for nearly two years.

The BLACKPINK dancer knows best what kind of struggles a YG Entertainment trainee may have. She remembered the time Pharita began crying while thinking of her dancing after she was asked if she was struggling with anything. Lisa, in turn, knew from experience that practice is the best thing that will help.

I asked her once, ‘Is there anything you’re struggling with?’ And she started to cry. ‘I want to dance like you unnie, but I’m so bad, and I’m so sad about that.’ I just tell her, ‘Keep practicing.’

— Lisa

The two have since been spotted out in public together, such as in an episode of The Last Evaluation with Chiquita.

Pharita considers Lisa her main inspiration and isn’t shy to share this continuously!
