BTS Breaks KARA’s 6-Year Record In Japan

KARA held this record for more than 6 years until BTS swooped in and snagged it for themselves.

BTS achieved a record-breaking feat with their album sales in the “Foreign Artist” category in Japan.

According to the Oricon Chart, the sales of their third album, Face Yourself, reached a staggering total of 282,000 in just the first week.

The same record was held by KARA for over six years and four months from when they sold more than 275,000 copies for their album Super Girl in 2011. With BTS breaking the record, the group managed to snag the title as the bes selling foreign artist in Japan.

BTS also released a comment when asked about their latest Oricon rankings.

“Our third album, Face Yourself, ranked first on the Oricon Weekly Album. We are glad to share the news to our ARMYS ahead our fan meeting in Japan. Thank you to all of you who always supported us.”

BTS is also set to hold an official fan meeting in Japan on the 18th and has asked their Japanese fans to look forward to it.
