“F*ck Capitalism” — How Broke BTS Fans Can Make A Cheap Lightstick

No money? No problem.

Recently, HYBE released a teaser video for BTS’s new official light stick. The Version 4 ARMB Bomb is sleek, pretty — and a cash-grab, according to some fans.

The lightstick, which will be released on February 9, is listed on the Weverse Shop for $35.05, excluding taxes.

The Weverse announcement for the VER. 4 stated that wireless control for the previous BTS lightsticks would only be supported until the Las Vegas concert in May. Starting with the Busan concert in June, wireless control will only be supported through the new VER. 4 version. Because of this, some fans feel like they are being pushed to purchase the VER. 4, which is the first new BTS lightstick in six years.

BTS’s Latest Light Stick Announcement Triggers Massive Backlash

To add insult to injury, the previous, cheaper version of the ARMY Bomb is currently sold out.

But, where there’s a will, there’s a way! A DIY lightstick, made from a mini flashlight, plastic lids, and a lot hot glue is going viral on X (formerly Twitter). The post has received over 40,000 likes and comments from netizens who are loving the energy.

Some shared photos of their own DIY lightsticks that fans can easily replicate for barely any money. Given how expensive concert tickets are, it’s not too surprising that some fans are saying no to capitalism and yes to crafts.
