BTS May Have Started Dropping Hints For Their New Album 2 Years Ago

These “MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA” clues go all the way back to 2017.

Big Hit Entertainment recently announced the name of BTS‘s comeback album, MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA, but they may have started dropping hints 2 years ago.

People say hindsight is 20/20, and nobody knows that better than ARMY! Ever since news of the album broke, fans have been scouring the internet for missed clues. ARMYs found one of these clues in BTS’s 2018 MAMA Intro VCR.

The words “I’ll show you the map of the soul” change to “I’ll show you the dream”. Both the “map of the soul” and “dreams” tie into the psychology concept BTS’s new album may be revolving around.

“Map of the Soul” is the title of a well-known book about psychologist Carl Jung‘s principles, which include the “persona”.

In one of Carl Jung’s essays, he described the persona as “a kind of mask, designed on the one hand to make a definite impression upon others, and on the other to conceal the true nature of the individual”. In other words, BTS’s “FAKE LOVE” mask concept may be continuing in their new work!

Since BTS’s label juniors, TXT, recently debuted with a dream concept, some fans are also wondering if MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA will tie into TXT’s work in some way.

So far, the oldest clue fans have found is from BTS’s 2017 “DNA” era. While performing “DNA” Jin wore a shirt with the word “persona” on it.

Fans are freaking out over these discoveries…

…and they can’t wait to find out more!
