How Daily Life Has Changed In Korea Amid The Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic, As Explained By A Foreigner

American Youtuber Megan Bowen has taken to her self-named channel to explain how life in Korea has changed. As an American living in Korea, she gives non-Koreans a unique look at what is going on amidst the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The first thing she did was take the time to recognize how incredible the country has been handling the pandemic. She also notes that taking the test is free.

She shared that Naver also keeps them updated, showing how many people have fallen ill, how many were tested, passed away, or are currently in treatment.

As for how life has changed in Korea… Places that used to be bustling with life and activity are now empty, as everyone attempts to self-isolate at home. Big events have been canceled through April.

Megan took the subway and was shocked to be the only one aboard that train.

She also observes that almost 100% of people are wearing masks, and businesses around Seoul won’t let you in unless you’re wearing a mask.

Because of a shortage of masks, the government set it up so that people could shop for masks at the pharmacy based on their birthdate, which Megan elaborates more on in her video.

Everyone in the country has been encouraging the use of hand sanitizer, with everyone from taxi drivers to busses to businesses making it available for use.
