Don’t go into the mountains at night in Korea…Or you might run into THIS mysterious girl

A Korean mythological tale says you may just run into a mysterious girl if you wander the mountains at night…

But that mysterious girl is in search of human hearts to devour on!

Her name is Gumiho, a half-fox half-human creature with nine tails who has lived for thousands of years.

She seduces humans to eat their livers and hearts fresh out of their body.

Gumiho also has superpowers, such as the ability to change her form into a beautiful girl and the ability to control the weather.

However, there are also not-so-terrifying versions of Gumiho’s nightmarish tales.

Gumiho also appears in tales that portray her as a harmless creature who just wants to become human.

And in order to do so, she has to get married to a man for 100 days without getting her identity revealed.

This horrifying yet attractive story of Gumiho was featured in many Korean works, such as the movie The Fox With Nine Tails featuring Ko So Young and Jung Woo Sung.

And a TV drama called My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox featuring Shin Min Ah and Lee Seung Gi.

Whether she be a horrific murderer or a cursed damsel in distress, be careful when wandering around in the middle of the night in Korea… or you may just meet Gumiho!
