ENHYPEN’s Jay Calls “My Love From The Star” A “Retro” K-Drama And Now We Feel Old

It aired from 2013 to 2014.

ENHYPEN recently sat down for a short and fun interview with Billboard where they had to pick one member who fit the criteria of each question best. From the person who searches their names often to the one who loves watching television the most, they always had an answer. On the latter, Sunoo was unanimously picked for being the top K-Drama fan.

The one he most recently binged is a classic that many aficionados would recognize: SBS‘s My Love From The Star which starred Kim Soo Hyun as the alien Do Min Joon and Jun Ji Hyun as the disgraced top star Cheon Song Yi.

Jay immediately chimed in with, “Retro!”

Since “retro” refers to a style from the past, he meant that the K-Drama was old—which then made many of us fans feel old as well!

Even Jake described it in a similar way, calling it an “old TV show.” Both of them were born in 2002 and so they would have only been 11 years old when it premiered.

It’s a really famous…kind of like an old TV show.

My Love From The Star aired from December 2013 to February 2014, making it eight years old today. For many K-Drama fans, 2014 is still clear in their memories and does not feel like it was too long ago.

Heeseung agreed with this sentiment, saying, “Retro? Is it considered retro already?”

My Love From The Star was a famous romantic comedy which featured an alien who stayed on earth for 400 years while aiming to find his way back home as well as an actress embroiled in a scandal. Their paths crossed and they eventually fell in love.

This K-Drama was so famous, it often topped the ratings in its time slot and even spurred remakes in countries like Thailand and the Philippines.

So…do you feel old yet?
