ENHYPEN’s Ni-ki Got Nervous Performing In Front Of One Idol He Really Admires
In a recent video uploaded to their YouTube channel, ENHYPEN gave fans a look behind-the-scenes of their performance at SBS Gayo Daejeon from late December of 2021.
The group performed both a carol version of “Just a Little Bit” and gave a stellar performance of “Tamed-Dashed.”
All of ENHYPEN were busy while in the waiting room before their performances. With Sunoo, Jungwon, and Jake taking photos for fans.
And Heeseung and Ni-ki playing mobile games.
But despite the levity in the waiting room as the members all joked around with each other, Ni-ki revealed that he was actually quite nervous about their performance.
Ni-ki reveals to the camera that he realized an idol he really admires, SHINee‘s Key, was watching ENHYPEN’s rehearsal from the audience, which made him very nervous.
But at the same time, Ni-ki also feels “so happy to be standing on the same stage with him.”
And had been excited to see the idol since he heard that Key would be an MC for Gayo Daejeon.
Key and Ni-ki first met when Ni-ki was in elementary school and performed as one of SHINee’s dancers.
And while he wanted to be able to greet Key, Ni-ki “thought he’d be too busy being the MC,” so he didn’t say anything.
But Ni-ki didn’t have to worry since Key happened to cross paths with ENHYPEN and greeted Ni-ki enthusiastically.
Key hugged Ni-ki while asking him how he had been.
And, just as Ni-ki had noticed, Key admits to having watched ENHYPEN’s rehearsal.
Ni-ki is all smiles as Key reminisces about how small Ni-ki was when they first met and how now Ni-ki is even taller than him.
And although their meeting is brief, Key wishes Ni-ki good luck in his performances and even tells him that he’ll see him later.
And, of course, once Key is gone, Ni-ki has an adorable reaction to having once again met an idol he admires so much.
Hopefully, fans will be able to see more interactions between these two in the future.
