400 Chinese fans have gone to extreme lengths to take pictures of their favorite actors, and it has left netizens in shock.
The actors in question are Arthur Chen and Luo Yunxi. They were shooting an episode for the historical-fiction drama Immortal, which will air in 2021.
Immortal tells the story of an emperor who is reborn after committing many grievous crimes and taking his own life. It is only in his new life when truth after truth is revealed, and he discovers that the man he hated the most in his previous life was actually protecting him from the shadows.
To ward off fans from the filming site, staff members blocked the area with green screens reaching over five meters high.
Fans, however, were able to find a way around them. Some illegally dug holes in the filming area…
While others hired an excavator and risked their lives by climbing on the bucket and taking pictures on it.
