As criticism grew, on May 13, 2020, he uploaded a handwritten apology on his Instagram account. Lee Jin Hyuk stated that he is “Reflecting on [his] actions streamed in the live broadcast” and that he is “Going to try [his] best to not disappoint anyone again.”

Before I continue, I would like to first apologize for my incompetence. I have looked back at the live broadcast and realized what I have done wrong. I’m sorry to all production staff, drama viewers, and my fans for my poor behavior in the live broadcast. Plus, I apologize to Kim Seul Gi sunbae-nim for my inconsiderate comment. Once the apology circulated, netizens actively left comments forgiving the rookie actor and wishing him all the best in his endeavors.

“To be honest, it was extremely disappointing. But this is a well written apology. And since the parties involved seem to have talked it through, that’s it. There is nothing more to be said about this anymore. I hope he’ll do better next time.”
