The Only “We Got Married” Couples Who Dated In Real Life
The reality show We Got Married aired for four seasons from 2008 to 2017. The show paired many Korean celebrities and idols together as fake married couples who won over viewers with their romantic and funny interactions.
Because the chemistry between some of the couples was off the charts, many wondered if any of the couples actually dated in real life.
Out of over thirty couples that appeared on We Got Married, only three couples ended up dating in real life.
SHINHWA‘s Junjin and actress Lee Si Young appeared in the show’s first season and became the first couple to have a real relationship after filming.
Lee Si Young’s vocals were even featured on Junjin’s Fascination mini-album, along with appearances in his music videos such as “Hey Ya”. Unfortunately, the couple broke up after dating for only half a year, claiming their busy schedules kept them apart.
SG Wannabe‘s Kim Yong Jun and actress Hwang Jung Eum began dating in 2006 and appeared in season two of We Got Married in 2009. Their romance continued to last throughout filming but didn’t end how viewers expected.
After nine years of dating, the couple broke up in 2015. Months later, Hwang Jung Eum announced her relationship with professional golfer Lee Young Don, who she married in 2016 and had two kids with.
Singer and actor Jo Jung Chi began dating singer Jung In in 2002, appearing in season four in 2013. Unlike the other couples, they’ve stood the test of time and reached a happy ending.
Following their proposal in the final episode, the couple married in 2013 after eleven years of dating. They welcomed their first child in 2017 and their second in 2019. The happy family enjoys spending time together and still finds time to make music.
