GOT7’s Mark Tuan Spills On How He Went Against His Former Company And Got A Tattoo In A “Secret” Place

This was so clever of Mark!

As the idea of tattoos becomes more and more commonplace, K-Pop idols are just as likely to rock some of the permanent ink on their bodies as well. Idols like BTS‘s Jungkook, TWICE‘s Chaeyoung, and former After School member Nana have gained attention for rocking multiple tattoos.

GOT7‘s Mark Tuan is another idol with many tattoos, including several that hold deep meanings to him and the other group members.

While Mark is free to do whatever he wants now, it seems this was not always the case!

During a recent trip to Thailand, Mark kept himself very busy with a schedule that included hanging out with some huge Thai celebrities at a BVGARI event and holding a special meet and greet in collaboration with developer Terminal 21.

During the meet and greet, a special fan board featuring questions from fans was brought on the stage. The MC picked out a question that asked about Mark’s “secret” tattoo causing Mark and the audience to laugh.

Mark explains that one day, he was with friends who went to a tattoo studio. The singer said that he felt “bored” and wanted to get some new ink himself.

According to Mark, his former company at the time expressed that they did not want him to get more tattoos.  The artist seemingly agreed but found a workaround by getting a tattoo in a “secret” place!

I was bored, and wanted to get another tattoo and then company at that time, they said “no more tattoos.” And then I was like “Okay, secret place.”

— Mark

The secret tattoo is a smiley face on his lip that he revealed earlier this year in a special interview with Seventeen. He shared that he had gotten it done around four years ago!

It’s great that Mark can now do whatever he likes regarding his body, and he has even given a response to those who don’t like his tattoos!
