Here’s How One Of Korea’s Most Popular Variety Shows Was Practically Forced To End
1 Night 2 Days is currently in its 4th season, and the cast is full of new faces.
However, the reason that the 4th season began was that the 3rd season was practically forced to get canceled
The 3rd season of 1 Night 2 Days was extremely popular, as it constantly got ratings that surpassed 15%, which is extremely high for a Korean variety show. The 3rd season of the show even won various awards due to its popularity, such as when it won “Viewers’ Choice Best Program” at the 2016 KBS Entertainment Awards.
Viewers also loved the chemistry between the members, as it seemed like they could make any situation hilarious.
However, the 3rd season had to halt filming once it was revealed that cast member Jung Joon Young had been illegally filming and capturing photos of women for many years. Not only that, but he would distribute these videos and pictures to people in a group chat.
Members Cha Tae Hyun and Kim Joon Ho also decided to step down from the show after it was revealed that they had gambled on a friendly game of golf. This was considered controversial since gambling is illegal in South Korea.
The show was practically forced to cancel the 3rd season, as half of the cast members had stepped down. The show soon went into hiatus, and eventually returned for the 4th season, where Kim Jong Min would be the only cast member from the 3rd season returning.
