Here’s The Foreign Film “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” Actress Shin Min Ah Was Greatly Inspired By
As a veteran actress herself, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha‘s Shin Min Ah knows a good film when she sees one.
In an interview with Netflix Korea, Shin Min Ah shared her top film recommendation, and it was none other than The Two Popes!
She described it as a famous work that is based on reality—and she’s right! Released in 2019, it was nominated for multiple awards including the Academy Awards and the Golden Globe Awards. It managed to nab the “Hollywood Screenwriter Award” at the 2019 Hollywood Film Awards.
Mine is The Two Popes. It’s already a very well known work that is based on a true story.
— Shin Min Ah
The Two Popes tells the story of Pope Benedict (Anthony Hopkins) and the future Pope Francis (Jonathan Pryce) finding a common ground as two very different kinds of men.
As she watched the film, Shin Min Ah was struck by the highly skilled acting of the main characters, Anthony Hopkins and Jonathan Pryce. They inspired her to improve her own acting skills (although hers are incredible to begin with!)
The two actors were so great. As an actress myself, it was inspiring, and the story was great.
— Shin Min Ah
Considering how Shin Min Ah has been exposed to many films herself due to the nature of her work, it says a lot that The Two Popes is what she recommends the most. Will you be watching it as well?
