Jack Harlow Was Originally Supposed To Feature On MAX And BTS Suga’s “Blueberry Eyes”

Can you imagine?!

American singer-songwriter MAX and BTS Suga‘s “Blueberry Eyes” is a beloved collaboration single.

Yet, it was supposed to have one more rapper featured. It was none other than American rapper Jack Harlow!

MAX guested on The Zach Sang Show. He talked about collaborations, including “It’s You,” featuring Keshi, and, of course, “Blueberry Eyes,” featuring Suga. So, Zach Sang asked, “What makes you, MAX, the great common denominator to these collaborations?”

I love collaborating. For a while, I felt weird about it because I was thinking like, ‘Does it take away from my own project if I do so many collaborations?’ But I just love how someone else brings something new out of something that you’re putting out, you know.

MAX explained why he loves collaborations so much. It helps one grow as an artist, of course, but he also builds genuine connections and friendships.

It’s so cool to see how there’s a common thread that you can hear, but what is this other person add that you wouldn’t have found yourself, and I just love sharing things with people.

Co-host Dan Zolot added a follow-up question: “What made you want to put out an even bigger version of ‘Blueberry Eyes?’ Because you and Suga had the big version, then you’re like, ‘Let’s have Lil Mosey and Olivia…'”

MAX explained how Jack Harlow inspired him. Surprisingly, he added that he actually had even asked Harlow to be on the new version of “Blueberry Eyes.”

I saw Jack Harlow do it with his song at the time, and actually … I texted Jack to be on the version. That was actually how it started.

MAX and Jack Harlow talked about potentially featuring on each other’s songs. It didn’t work out at the time, unfortunately.

I saw he had just done that, and he was my first choice. I was like, ‘Let’s keep this train going, baby, let’s add some more cool people, and then when it didn’t work out with him, I was like, ‘Well, I still love this concept and so that was again was just a fun experiment…
