Jam Republic gained attention around the world for their talents while competing on the popular dance program Street Woman Fighter 2, ending the show in second place.
Recently, members Kirsten, Latrice, and Audrey Lane sat down with Bella from Korea Now to discuss their time on the show, their top K-Pop collaborations, and more.
Each of the group’s five members has worked with global artists during their dance careers, and recently, the Jam Republic members have worked with TXT, BTS‘s Jungkook, and more.
During their Korea Now interview, the group was asked about their experience working with K-Pop stars and how it compares to experiences abroad, and they shared what they’ve observed during their careers.
Audrey Lane praised K-Pop stars as being very “interactive” with dancers and said they often show an interest in learning from them.
While she clarified that artists overseas can show that same interest, it seems K-Pop artists have a “very serious” approach to it.
Leader Kirsten noted that the group is becoming more used to working with Korean music, and have adapted to understanding the depth of what the lyrics are saying.
Bella pointed out that K-Pop music has a bit more of a Western style lately, which Kirsten agreed with, naming the recent “Back For More” collaboration between TXT and Brazilian singer-songwriter Anitta as an example.
Audrey concluded, stating the Jam Republic members enjoy working with K-Pop idols, sharing that the artists they’ve worked with have been “so kind and beautiful.”
During their interview, they also spilled on what it was like working with BTS’s Jungkook and what his personality was like.
