Lee’s response when asked about romantic K-Dramas left fans in shock.

Lee Joon Hyuk, the talented actor who gained popularity through his roles in hit dramas such as Three Brothers, I Am Legend, City Hunter, and Man from the Equator, is currently making waves as Joo Seong Cheol in the thrilling film The Roundup: No Way Out. Known for his impressive performances in crime and thriller genres, Lee Joon Hyuk was asked in a recent interview with Star News Korea whether he would ever consider taking on a romantic K-Drama role. Lee’s response left many fans shocked.

I think romance as a genre is difficult. And all the male leads in romantic works are so good-looking. There are a lot more wholesome romantic K-Dramas and movies, so it might seem easy. But romcoms and melodramas depend a lot on the leads.

After expressing his reservations about taking on such roles, he also added that he feels uncertain about whether production companies would be willing to “risk casting” him.

So, I don’t know that production companies are willing to risk casting me for a romantic male lead.

Others were so bewildered by Lee’s opinion of his looks someone even playfully questioned whether the actor has mirrors at home. Their lighthearted remark is a way of expressing their disbelief at his self-perception, emphasizing that if he could see himself as they do, he would recognize his own attractiveness.

  • “Excuse me… Who else, if not you, is the best fit for romcoms? T-T”
  • “Oppa. Do you not have mirrors in your house?”
  • “But you ARE the dreamiest romantic male lead. You have the eyes for it. T-T”
  • “PLEASE STAR IN ONE.”
