… But what about when the records are pointless? With fans treating fancams as a legitimate accomplishment, the high view numbers are still meaningless because they don’t do anything to directly benefit the artist.

Ultimately, much like ads, the views end up not counting toward the videos count as it requires a click to actually get people to view the MV.
