Chaewon Struggled To Adjust To LE SSERAFIM’s Choreography Compared To In IZ*ONE, Here’s Why

It was a drastic change.

Before joining LE SSERAFIM, leader Chaewon was a member of the famous project group, IZ*ONE.

After the group disbanded on April 29, 2021, she went on to join SOURCE MUSIC and debut in LE SSERAFIM. It’s why she has a wide range of experiences and can compare what it’s like to be in separate groups!

In a past interview with Weverse Magazine, she zeroed in on how the choreographies between the two are different. IZ*ONE, for example, had more members, which is why their dances focused on the members moving together as one.

In her opinion, none of the choreography they did was especially difficult.

When I was in IZ*ONE, we had a lot of members and our choreography revolved around all of us moving together to create scenes and formations, so there weren’t any particularly difficult movements.

On the flip side, LE SSERAFIM’s choreography was noticeably different. She couldn’t nail the “FEARLESS” dance well, so she needed more practice than usual. The most difficult parts to do, in her opinion, were the subtle and unassuming moves that required more control.

But there were a lot of moves in ‘FEARLESS’ I couldn’t do very well, so I had to practice a lot. It was a little hard tackling the subtler parts, like when I have to emphasize the way I move my hips or have to control how strong I do certain moves.

Finally, she explained that the chorus was a learning curve because she had to make it appear attractive despite it looking simple.

In order to accomplish this goal, she approached their performance director, practicing various options and studying how to perfect it.

The moves in the chorus look simple, for example, but I consulted with the performance director a lot about what I should do to make the poses as attractive as possible, and all of us worked together and studied a lot to make that part perfect.

LE SSERAFIM’s choreography may have been more of a challenge than the IZ*ONE choreographies, but the end result was an impressive performance that wowed the K-Pop community! Check it out here:
