On a recent episode of JTBC’s Camping Club, Lee Hyori taught her fellow members how to raise their self-esteem.
On the show, Lee Hyori confessed, “I tend to say everything I want in life, but I know when to hold back.”
She continued, “You didn’t notice this, did you? When we rode scooters, I purposely stopped in front of the shade under trees. I did that so that Jin could be under the shade. This is the kind of person I am. I felt touched by myself.”
Lee Hyori then explained, “That’s not the point though. The point is, things like that raise your self-esteem. The more you feel proud of yourself, the higher your self-esteem.”
She explained how her husband, Lee Sang Soon taught her this by sharing, “Back in the day, we made a chair together. And you don’t see the underside of the chair, but he worked hard to sand it down. So I asked why he was doing that when no one ever saw it, and he said, ‘But I see it, and know that it’s there.’”
When her fellow members admired Lee Sang Soon’s mindset, Lee Hyori added, “That’s when I had the realization that it’s not others but yourself that’s important. How you think of yourself is the most important.“
